Polymer Centre to merge with Department of Art, Media & Design

I see no mention of it on the University web site yet, but apparently, a marriage is on the cards for the London Metropolitan Centre, and the John Cass Department of Art, Media, and Design.

The Polymer Centre goes back almost 60 years, under various names - it was founded in 1948 as the National School of Rubber Technology, before merging with South Bank Polytechnic's Polymer School. In 2002, following the merger of North London and Guildhall Universities to form London Metropolitan University, the School of Polymer Technology became the LMPC that we know today.

The John Cass Department of Arts Media and Design, based in the artistic and cultural centre of East London, boasts a wealth of artistic talent, along with world class design and realisation facilities.

The forthcoming merger can be expected to herald a wealth of possibility, cross fertilising artistic vision with technical know how and knowledge of the capabilities of polymers.
